Nene Obibi-Mordi
Founder and Chief Executive | UK Registered Adult Nurse
I founded EOON Care after seeing how difficult it can be for Nigerian families—particularly those living abroad—to arrange dependable care for ageing parents and relatives.
Finding a caregiver is only part of the solution. Families also need clear standards, agreed responsibilities, reliable communication and someone overseeing the care arrangement in Nigeria.
As a UK Registered Adult Nurse, I believe older people deserve safe, dignified and person-centred support that reflects their individual needs and circumstances. EOON Care combines professional care principles with an understanding of Nigerian homes, family relationships and the realities of arranging care locally.
Our role is to understand the older person’s needs, help plan appropriate support, coordinate suitable caregivers where available, agree how the family will receive updates and review the arrangement when circumstances change.
EOON Care does not replace the family. We help families remain informed and involved without having to manage every detail from another country.
EOON Care Nigeria Ltd is an independent elder-care and caregiver-development organisation based in Owerri, Imo State.
We help older people and their families arrange practical, non-clinical support at home, during hospital admission and throughout recovery. We also help families living abroad understand care needs, coordinate suitable arrangements and remain informed about what is happening.
Our work includes:
Home and hospital care support
Live-in and rotational care arrangements
Family support and care coordination
Caregiver training and development
Our primary service area is Owerri and surrounding communities in Imo State. Support in other locations depends on caregiver availability, assessment and the agreed care arrangement.
Many families want dependable care for an ageing parent but struggle to manage it because of distance, changing health needs or informal arrangements that lack clear responsibility.
The problem is not simply finding someone willing to provide care. Families need to know:
What support the older person actually needs
Who is responsible for providing that support
Whether the caregiver has been appropriately verified and trained
How concerns and changes will be communicated
Who will monitor and review the arrangement
EOON Care exists to bring greater structure, visibility and accountability to this process.
We help families understand the situation, consider an appropriate level of support and establish clearer care arrangements from the beginning.
EOON Care helps families arrange and coordinate practical support for older people in Nigeria.
Our services include:
Home and hospital care
Personal care, companionship, daily-living support, medication reminders and non-clinical bedside support during hospital admission or recovery.
Live-in and rotational care
More consistent support for older people who require regular assistance, supervision or should not be left alone for extended periods.
Family support and care coordination
Helping families understand changing needs, agree responsibilities, coordinate suitable care and receive updates—particularly when they live abroad.
Caregiver training and development
Structured learning for EOON Care applicants, existing caregivers, professional caregivers and family members supporting an older relative.
Our values guide how we communicate, make decisions and support older people and their families. .
Compassion
We listen carefully and treat every older person with kindness, patience and empathy
Accountability
We agree responsibilities, communicate clearly and take concerns seriously
Respect
We protect dignity, privacy, choice and the older person’s right to be involved in decisions about their care
Excellence
We work to clear standards, develop caregiver competence and improve how support is delivered
EOON Care is led by Nene Obibi-Mordi, a UK Registered Adult Nurse and experienced NHS programme leader.
Her experience in nursing, service improvement, programme delivery and governance informs EOON Care’s approach to:
Person-centred support
Caregiver standards and development
Safeguarding and professional boundaries
Clear communication with families
Quality monitoring and continuous improvement
EOON Care applies these principles within the Nigerian context rather than attempting to copy the UK care system.
Our vision is a future where older people in Nigeria receive safe, dignified and person-centred support—and families can arrange care with greater confidence.
EOON Care aims to contribute to stronger elder-care standards by:
Developing capable and accountable caregivers
Promoting safeguarding, documentation and clear professional boundaries
Improving communication between caregivers, older people and families
Helping families move from informal arrangements to more structured care
Building practical care models suited to Nigerian homes and communities
Our ambition is to help raise the standard of elder care in Nigeria while keeping older people’s dignity, preferences and relationships at the centre.
If you are considering support for an older parent or relative in Nigeria, start with a confidential conversation. Tell us about their current situation, where they live and what concerns you most.
We will explain what support EOON Care may be able to provide and the next appropriate step.
Care services are subject to assessment, caregiver availability and an agreed care arrangement.
